“Between Walls and Desires” is a black-and-white photographic series that uses studio photography and post-production to depict different forms of boundaries, desire, and vulnerability.
Bodies trapped in concrete structures and hands reaching for a glass of water create a metaphor for physical and social boundaries.
The project focuses specifically on the challenges faced by African women in their quest for a better life in Europe, as they are held back by a triple barrier: being a woman, Black, and an immigrant.
A series about boundaries that we are not aware of—or do not want to be aware of—but that shape the lives of millions of people.
