In this series the images were taken at different street intersections in Los Angeles, which for me represent the paradigm of urban life. They are spaces of confluence in which we stop and we are forced to observe the environment from our car, although we do not usually pay too much attention. They are also places full of tension, because of the tense calm of the moments before the traffic light turns green and because of the danger of speed. This has a double meaning here, since all the locations presented have been Hollywood movie sets, pretending that the calm of the images is the prelude to frantic activity, as if when pressing the shutter I was saying, action! and the whole city began to move, although I did not get to catch the action.
Los Angeles is a land that ranges between fiction and reality, and we don't know where one ends and the other begins. With the stitching technique I have obtained large-format negatives, and referring back to ultra-HD and the hyperrealism of modern film, I've reframed them to fit the standard format used in the industry, creating panoramas. I have also removed all indications of place, street names or typefaces, leaving only the background colors of the posters and signs, underlining the postmodern, generic and global character (or characterless) of its spaces and architecture.
